About Us

Learn how the Relearn Foundation is making an impact in students' lives around the world.

Mission Statement

Our mission is very simple, collect used school supplies and redistribute them to children in need of a quality education. We believe that education is the key to success and it is our mission to give as many kids as possible a chance at a quality education.

Plan of Action

Relearn foundation places collection bins in schools in southeast Wisconsin. Students with old school supplies or students who just want to help others can place their new or used school supplies in our collection bins. At the end of every year relearn foundation volunteers collect all the bins and organize the school supplies. From there the supplies are taken to Santo Tomas and Milpas Altas in Antigua Guatemala as well as the Riverton Meadows Early Childhood Development Center in Kingston Jamaica. By giving these schools the supplies they need they are better able to provide their student a quality education.

Ryan Anderson, an Eagle Scout from Cedarburg, founded the Relearn Foundation in 2012. Ryan was inspired after visiting Jamaica on a service trip coordinated by an Ozaukee County based service group, Pivotal Directions. Shortly after Relearn’s establishment, Anderson recruited Hayden Braaten of Mequon to take on the role of Co-Director. The Relearn Foundation was initially involved in two communities- Cedarburg and Mequon- but quickly grew to incorporate participation from more area schools. In 2013, Relearn collected over 2,000 pounds of used school supplies that were then distributed in: Kingston, Jamaica; Antigua, Guatemala; and to Milwaukee suburban communities.

The establishment of the Relearn Foundation allowed Ryan to win the Milwaukee-area Kohl's Cares Scholarship. Ryan's accomplishment also entered him in the national contest. In July of 2014, Ryan was announced as one of 10 winners of the national Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program.
